Software teams have long used version control, code review and automated deployment, but SCADA projects have traditionally been stored as binary files that cannot be meaningfully compared. That is changing. Ignition 8.3 moved project files to JSON, which makes differences visible and merging practical, and the wider push for browser-based engineering tools is part of the same trend.
With readable project files, teams can keep SCADA projects in Git, review changes before they go live, tag releases, and roll back a faulty change quickly. Separate development, test and production gateways become routine rather than a luxury.
It does not remove the need for discipline. Controls on who can promote changes to production, and records of what changed and why, still matter, particularly for regulated industries and for the audit requirements that come with standards such as IEC 62443.
We now hand over Web SCADA projects with version history and a documented release process, so clients can maintain and extend the system with confidence after commissioning.
Services Used
WebSCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition via web technologies) is a modern evolution of traditional SCADA systems. It allows operators to monitor and control industrial processes remotely through web interfaces, offering:
Industry 4.0 with IoT and WebSCADA empowers manufacturers to build smart factories that are agile, efficient, and future-ready. It’s not just a technological upgrade—it’s a strategic transformation.
